Performance evaluation of a small scale indirect solar dryer with static reflectors during non-summer months in the Saurashtra region of western India

► Indirect, natural convection solar dryer designed with N-S reflectors on collector. ► Performance evaluation undertaken in January in Gujarat, India. ► Moisture content of “papad” reduced from 83.0% to 12.0% (w.b.) in 5 h. ► 49.4% average collector efficiency matching computed results. ► 13% drying efficiency when optimally loaded.
