Heterogeneous numerical modeling of asphalt concrete through use of a biphasic approach: Porous matrix/inclusions

- Complex modulus and phase angle of asphalt mix were calculated by heterogeneous method.
- Digital models consider a porous matrix and a random rigid skeleton in two dimensions.
- Numerical results agree with experimental measurements in several cases.
- Micromechanical analysis provides a better description of phenomenon at the grain level.
