3-D finite element analysis of stress concentration factor in spot-welded joints of steel: The effect of process-induced porosity

▸ The objective of this work is to study the stress concentration. Its induced in a matrix by pores resulting from the process of welding. ▸ This analysis was made in close proximity to the nuggets of the interface with the pore. ▸ The pore size and form effect has major effects on the stress concentration factors. ▸ The effect of pore-defect interaction on the stresses concentration was highlighted.
