Effect of microstructure on creep behaviour of cast Mg97Y2Zn1 (at.%) alloy

► Creep behaviour of Mg97Y2Zn1 (at.%) alloy in as-cast condition and after a thermal treatment. ► A lamellar structure within magnesium grains is generated after thermal treatment. ► Initial 18R LPSO structure transforms to a 14H structure during creep. ► Lamellar structure increases creep resistance at low temperature.
