Effects of ZnO coating on the damping and tensile properties of LiNbO3 particle-reinforced aluminum composite

► A novel aluminum composite with LiNbO3 piezoelectric particles was studied. ► Damping capacity was improved due to the enhanced piezo-damping by ZnO coating. ► Tensile property was increased due to the better interface strength by ZnO coating. ► Materials of good mechanical property and damping capacity can be made on this paper.
