Anisotropy in fatigue properties of AZ31 Mg alloy recycled by solid-state processing was investigated by conducting the fatigue tests whose direction was varied in directions at 0° and 90° from the rolling direction. In addition, effect of the second rolling on the anisotropy in fatigue properties were investigated using the double-rolled recycled alloy. As a result, the fatigue resistance of 90°-recycled alloy was significantly poorer than that of 0°-recycled alloy. This was due to non-uniform distribution of oxide contaminants. However, the anisotropy in fatigue properties in the recycled alloy was corrected by second rolling because the oxide contaminants were distributed more uniformly by second rolling.
