Scanning electron micrographs of Oryzophagus oryzae (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), plastron structure and swimming behavior

► Three different hydrofuge scales and sensilla were identified in Oryzophagus oryzae. ► The gas exchange in O. oryzae relies on a subelytral air store. ► The plastron structure is identical to Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus. ► Based on the plastron structure, similar control measures for both weevil species.
