In the present study, the effect of thermal behavior on performance of the low cost reduced graphene oxide (RGO) battery is investigated. Graphene oxide (GO) and RGO are prepared by modified Hummers’ and thermal method, respectively. The structural properties of GO and RGO are characterized by X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscopy. The current-voltage and power-voltage characteristics of the RGO based battery are obtained. These measurements are performed for three different temperatures (298, 323 and 348 K). The dependence of the high open circuit voltages and short circuit currents on temperature is investigated. The high open circuit voltages increased with the increase of temperatures. In order to obtain the RGO based battery, the low cost GO, electrodes and substrates are used. This finding provides a new way to understand the behavior of RGO in new battery technology.
