Study of Single and Multilayer Silica-titania Thin Films on Plastic Substrate

Sol-gel based single and multilayer (SiO2, TiO2, SiO2-TiO2, TiO2/SiO2-TiO2/SiO2) thin films were deposited on low temperature PMMA (poly-methyl-methacrylate-) substrate. The surface morphology characterization was carried out using optical microscope showed uniform, adhesive and smooth surface. From UV-Vis spectroscopy it was found that coated films had good optical transparency. So, these films can be appropriate for various potential optical applications.
