• PEDOT:PSS-coated CuV2O6 composite nanobelts have been prepared.
• The composite nanobelts were prepared by a simple dip-and-dry method.
• The composite nanobelts show enhanced electrochemical performances.
The poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)-coated CuV2O6 nanobelts have been synthesized via a simple dip-and-dry method. The CuV2O6 core and PEDOT:PSS layer can be clearly observed in single nanobelt. When tested as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries, the CuV2O6/PEDOT: PSS nanobelts exhibit higher capacity and better cyclability than that of bare CuV2O6 nanobelts. This result indicates that the conducting PEDOT:PSS nanolayer coating helps to preserve high capacity, maintain high electrochemical stability, and reduce charge transfer resistance during cycling performance. This simple synthetic route, which involves no polymerization or chemical reaction, will offer great opportunities for the scale-up preparation of PEDOT:PSS-coated composite materials.
