Shape evolution of PbTe nanostructures using mixed lead sources

► We report the synthesis of PbTe nanostructures using a route employing mixed lead sources. ► PbTe nanostructures are in the form of spheres, cubes and branched nanowires. ► Evolution of particle shape is due to the variation of reaction conditions.
