Preparation and characterization of Sm2O3/Cu mosaic structure with infrared absorptive properties and low infrared emissivity

► Sm2O3/Cu mosaic structure was prepared by simple solid state reaction. ► The Sm2O3/Cu mosaic structure show acute absorption for the infrared light near 1.06 μm. ► The reflectivity and infrared emissivity could be tuned by adjusting the content of Cu. ► Compatibility of infrared absorptive material can be improved for low emissivity application.
