Synthesis of leaf-like Ag2S nanosheets by hydrothermal method in water–alcohol homogenous medium

Special Ag2S leaf-like nanosheets were successfully synthesized in NH3–CS2 system by hydrothermal route in an alcohol–water medium. Changing the reaction medium from water, alcohol–water to alcohol, the morphology changed from big irregular nanosheets + microspheres, leaf-like nanosheets + nanoparitcles to big microspheres. It is found that alcohol–water homogenous condition and sulfur source of NH3–CS2 are the key issues to construct this unique morphology.
