Synthesis, characterization and optical properties of regularly shaped, single-crystalline sisal-like ZnO nanostructures

A novel sisal-like ZnO nanostructures have been synthesized through a simple chemical vapor deposition (CVD) approach. The nanoleaves of the ZnO nanosisals are single-crystalline wurtzite structures and preferentially oriented in the <001> direction. PL measurement shows a strong UV emission at about 342 nm.
