Structure and properties of Al2O3 coatings formed on NiTi alloy by cathodic plasma electrolytic deposition

Al2O3 coatings were prepared on NiTi alloy by cathodic plasma electrolytic deposition (CPED) in an aluminum nitrate solution. The amount of Ni on the surface layer is reduced to a larger extent and the corrosion resistance of the coated sample is increased by 3 times compared with that of the uncoated sample on the basis of corrosion current density.77
