A new approach to understand liquid injection into atmospheric plasma jets

► Vapor phase of liquid injection into atmospheric plasma was detected by infrared imaging. ► All results have been verified by shadowgraphy images. ► Vapor cloud analysis permitted qualification of liquid injection depth. ► It could be shown that lower Ohnesorge numbers lead to more focused vapor beams.
