Use of atmospheric plasma treatment to improve adhesion properties of sodium ionomer sheets

► We improve the surface wettability of ionomer sheets using atmospheric plasma. ► We test adhesive joints of ionomers to check which were the best plasma conditions. ► Treatment at low parameters shows the best results of wettability and peel force. ► We achieve an improved in T-peel force of six times its original value. ► After plasma, we achieved an increase of 10 times its original value in shear force.
