Erosion-corrosion performance of NiCrAlY coating produced by plasma spray process in a coal-fired thermal power plant

► Protection to the base metal has been provided by the NiCrAlY coating. ► Main phases identified in all exposed coatings are Cr2O3 and Al2O3. ► Oxides of Al, Cr, and Y are recognized as protective oxides for boiler environment. ► Higher percentage of oxygen seems to have penetrated along the splat boundaries.
