Thin films of polymerized acetylene by RF discharge and its benzene absorption ability

► Thin films of polymerized acetylene were prepared by RF plasma. ► We proposed a chemical structure for the thin film of acetylene polymerized. ► Chemical structure of the film suggests that it could interact with aromatic solvents. ► Plasma polymer acetylene showed high capacity to absorb and retain benzene.
