Synthesis and characterization of molybdenum disulfide/multi-walled carbon nanotube coaxial nanotubes

► MoS2 coating layers are deposited on MWCNTs by a gas-solid reaction. ► We obtain complete and continuous MoS2 coatings on MWCNTs surface. ► The obtained MoS2 sheaths have high crystallinity and well attach to MWCNTs. ► The number of layers can be controlled by changing parameters of the precursor.
