Investigations of Mn-Co-O and Mn-Co-Y-O coatings deposited by the magnetron sputtering on ferritic stainless steels

► Mn-Co-O and Mn-Co-Y-O coatings were deposited on the steel interconnects of SOFC. ► The ion-assisted reactive magnetron sputtering of the metal targets were used. ► Increasing the Y content decreased the oxidation rate of the coated steels. ► The ASR of Mn-Co-Y-O coated Crofer 22APU increased from 6 to15 mΩ·cm2 in 5000 h. ► The ASR least value (6 mΩ·cm2 in 5000 h) was obtained for Mn-Co-O coated Crofer 22APU.
