Thermal stability and oxidation resistance of laser clad TiVCrAlSi high entropy alloy coatings on Ti-6Al-4V alloy

►The phase composition of the annealed coating was investigated. ►Multicomponent phase diagrams were calculated by using the CALPHAD method. ►The experimental phase composition agrees with the thermodynamic calculations. ►A small increase of hardness after vacuum annealing. ►The TiVCrAlSi coating improves the oxidation resistance of Ti-6Al-4V.
