Thermo-mechanical analysis of the prismatic fuel assembly of VHTR in normal operational condition

► Precise 3-D thermo-mechanical analysis of prismatic fuel elements in VHTR core was carried out. ► CFD temperature results were transferred to structural FEM code. ► Nonlinear aspects of material and interactions were considered in the analysis. ► In normal operational condition, structural integrity was confirmed.
