Organic silicon compounds in biogases produced from grass silage, grass and maize in laboratory batch assays

► The occurrence of siloxanes in biogas produced from crops was analyzed. ► The results show that siloxanes may be present in biogas produced from crops. ► Cyclic siloxanes were detected from biogas produced from plant material. ► In most of the assays the yield of siloxanes increased with increasing incubation time.
