► In this study we monitor gas leaks from a natural analogue. ► Soil gas and water monitoring techniques are used for both spot and continuous recordings. ► Soil gas data are used to quantify site evolution over 15 years. ► Spatial influence of deep CO2 feeding was evaluated using continuous records. ► Capacities of different monitoring methodologies that may apply to CO2 storage sites are evaluated.
