CO2 sequestration into the Wyodak coal seam of Powder River Basin-Preliminary reservoir characterization and simulation

► Injection and storage of CO2 into the study area is feasible. ► Only one vertical injector well per section is feasible with geomechanical constraints. ► Horizontal well can inject 12% more but injectivity reduces. ► Over the nine-section 5.5 million tons of CO2 sequestration possible over 20 years. ► Up to 20% of injected CO2 can migrate into caprock.
