Evaluation of the environmental performance of lime production in Cuba

► In this work is evaluated the environmental performance of lime production in Cuba. ► The calcination stage is the most impacting step of the production process. ► Inputs of fuel, electricity and limestone strongly influences the process impacts. ► The study establishes a benchmark to improve the process performance in Cuba.
