A simplified analytical approach to estimate the parameters required for strength determination of HDR 192Ir brachytherapy sources using a Farmer-type ionization chamber

► RAKR measurement of a brachytherapy source by 7 distance method requires the evaluation of 'f'. ► A simplified analytical approach based on least square method to evaluate 'f' and 'Ms' was developed. ► Parameter 'f' calculated by proposed analytical approach was verified using the Monte Carlo method. ► Proposed analytical approach can be adopted for routine use to estimate 'f'.
