EDXRF analysis of the Pentecost Triptych from the “São Pedro de Miragaia” church (Porto, Portugal)

► In situ EDXRF measurements by means of a portable EDXRF spectrometer are made. ► Characteristic elements from original and restored areas are identified and compared. ► Lead based pigments are identified as main components of the reintegration pigments. ► The presence of cadmium red is compatible with a restoration later than 1910. ► Ca compounds in deep layers and Pb pigments in superficial layers are identified.
