Existence of solitary travelling waves in interfacial electrohydrodynamics

► A fluid layer in a normal electric field is considered. ► A PDE governing the propagation of interfacial waves is derived. ► Travelling wave solutions are obtained as a function of Froude number. ► Numeric results are plotted. ► Conditions on Weber number and Bond number for existence of solitary waves are obtained.
