Computational multiple scattering analysis of elastic waves in unidirectional composites

► A numerical procedure is presented for the multiple scattering of elastic waves in fiber-reinforced media. ► The proposed semi-analytical procedure is effective and applicable to arbitrary fiber arrangements. ► The computed effective phase velocities of a composite are compared to micromechanical predictions. ► The energy transmission spectra are shown for different fiber arrangements and volume fractions.
