Weakly nonlinear long waves in a prestretched Blatz-Ko cylinder: Solitary, kink and periodic waves

► Model equations for nonlinear waves are derived asymptotically from the field equations. ► Traveling waves are analyzed through the technique of dynamical systems. ► It is shown that solitary, periodic and kink waves can arise in a prestretched cylinder.
