Some geometric investigations on the Degasperis-Procesi shallow water equation

We present some geometric investigations on some recently derived shallow water equations. While the Camassa-Holm equation can be expressed as an Euler equation on the diffeomorphism group of the circle, this is not the case for the Degasperis-Procesi equation.
