Markets misinterpreted? A comment on Sánchez-Amaro and Amici (2015)

• We discuss Sánchez-Amaro and Amici (2015)'s review on biological market theory (BMT).
• BMT is a functional theory, and thus does not postulate a particular mechanism.
• BMT and Seyfarth's model are distinct models with different testable predictions.
• We correct some of the cited literature, including our own work, that is misquoted.
• We argue that there is more evidence in support of BMT than the authors acknowledge.
