The study of corrosion resistance of Pokostivskiy granodiorites after processing by various chemical and mechanical methods

• The influence of the aggressive environment on the granodiorite is investigated.
• Impact of pollutants and previous processing on lightness and hues was analyzed.
• Guidelines for stone processing in different environments are presented.

The regularities of gloss and lightness changes of Pokostivskiy granodiorite depending on the duration of the impact of aggressive environment were established. The state of the environment for different regions of Ukraine was analysed. The most effective methods of stone processing that protect the stone surface and maximum preservation of gloss and lightness for different aggressive environments were determined. The different methods of stone processing in different regions of Ukraine in connection with various concentrations of harmful substances were recommended to use.
