Visually impaired students have had direct access to the physiotherapist profession since the beginning, with specific selection, and then study for the State Diploma in specialised institutions for visually impaired students. For high-level athletes, entry is more recent; it is based on a double project: success in sport and simultaneous preparation for the student's future occupation. The 2015 reform provides for a skill-based approach and a personalised curriculum, validating course unit credits in each cycle. However, this will require adjustments in the follow-up of course-work and in the assessment of the university courses; the university credits system needs thinking out.
