Les ondes de choc en pratique courante: Shockwaves in practice current

L’arsenal thérapeutique du masseur-kinésithérapeute s’est enrichi d’une nouvelle technique avec les ondes de choc radiales (Radial Shock Waves Therapy : RSWT). Le champ d’application de cette technique s’est élargi aux affections de l’appareil locomoteur superficiel et notamment aux tendinopathies. Un rappel est fait concernant l’origine des ondes de choc ainsi que le moyen de production de ces ondes mécaniques. Les modes d’actions supposées, gate-control,actions chimiques et mécaniques, sont ensuite présentées. Les indications habituelles, les contre-indications et les effets secondaires sont rappelés et de nouvelles applications sont proposées. Enfin les caractéristiques de paramétrage de la machine (nombre de séances, nombre de coups, fréquence et intensité) sont précisées au lecteur.L’application de cette technique nécessite pour être efficace, une grande précision du geste et le plus souvent un contrôle radio ou échographique.Niveau de preuve :non adapté

The therapeutic arsenal of the physical therapist grew rich of a new technique with shock waves radial (RSWT: Radial nerve Shock Waves Therapy). The field of application of this technique widened in the affections of the superficial musculoskeletal system in particular in the tendinopathies. A reminder is made concerning the origin of shock waves as well as the means of production of these mechanical waves. The supposed modes of action, Gate Control, chemical and mechanical actions are then presented. The usual indications, the contraindications and the side effects are reminded and of new applications are proposed. Finally the characteristics of parameter setting of the machine (number of sessions, number of knocks, frequency and intensity) are specified to the reader. The application of this technique requires to be effective, a big precision of the movement and mostly a control radio or ultrasound.Level of evidence:not applicable
