Pertinence d'un protocole de prise en charge du sevrage tabagique dans un service de grossesses à haut risque

In France, smoking is a real public health problem. Even if it is decreasing in women of childbearing age, one quarter of them are still smokers and 27 % of them smoke during their pregnancy. The consequences of the mother smoking during pregnancy are disastrous both obstetrically and on the foetus. Effective solutions exist in tobacology and should be implemented by midwives. The obstetrics/gynaecology unit at Montpellier University Hospital has developed a protocol in collaboration with Unité de Coordination de Tabacologie in order to better care for the pregnant smokers hospitalised in its high-risk unit. During hospitalisation, care of the patient's nicotinism is necessary since smoking acts directly on the disorder for which she was admitted as is care of the withdrawal syndrome induced by the impossibility of smoking within the hospital. Everyone's involvement and the presence of a tobacologist midwife in the department has improved the efficacy of the strategy for care.
