Many countries in Europe did not wait until the university reform to establish midwife training within their universities. France will have to catch up to resolve the problem of the incoherence of the organization of midwife training for medical professionals, which is now dispensed within hospital schools associated with nursing schools outside of the university environment. The curriculum of midwife training should be revisited and established in compliance with the prerequisites of the profession and the university.
