Nursing contributions to mobilizing older adults following total hip replacement in Ireland

This paper presents the findings from a study on nurses’ views of the contributions they make to the mobilising of older patients recovering from total hip replacement. A specific focus was laid on pain management and interpersonal care. The results show that Irish nurses reject mechanistic models of care in favour of contemporary approaches. The work of other authors is discussed extensively.
