Limfocyty regulatorowe - rola fizjologiczna oraz udział w patologii wieku dziecięcego (część I)

Regulatory lymphocytes (T reg) are heterogenic subpopulation of lymphocytes and an important element of the immune system. There are two groups of regulatory lymphocytes: natural regulatory cells (CD4+CD25+) and induced ones (CD4+CD25−). This paper describes surface and intracellular markers characteristic for T reg, the cytokines they produce, as well as the ways of communication with other groups of cells. The role of T reg lymphocytes in pathology of infectious diseases and oncology is discussed. Current knowledge about these cells and further research bring hope of development of new therapies for many diseases.
