Postępowanie w niewydolności oddechowej u dzieci z sekwencjÄ Robina. Aktualny stan wiedzy

Robin sequence is a well known triad of micrognathia, glossoptosis and cleft palate, leading to a potentially severe, life threatening airway obstruction in a neonate. Surgical upper airway management in Robin sequence still remains highly controversial. The purpose of this paper is to review present thinking about Robin sequence and to provide an update on recent methods of surgical management of upper airway obstruction in neonates with RS, including management protocol elaborated in our center. In the article, we discuss the advantages and pitfalls of traditional as well as newly introduced surgical treatment protocols, like tracheostomy, glossopexy, mandibular distraction osteogenesis, early palatal closure and SRFM.
