Zastosowanie Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG w profilaktyce i leczeniu wybranych chorób przewodu pokarmowego

Probiotics, e.g. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) occur more and more popular. In this paper we present results of researches concerned LGG application in prevention and treatment of alimentary tract diseases. Many times it was providing, particularly in children's populations, that receiving of LGG in acute infection diarrhoea, mainly with viral etiology, induces shortening it period. Results of investigations concerning acute bacterial diarrhoea are promising, too. Moreover, it was demonstrated that prophylactic application of LGG reduces the risk of traveler's diarrhoea. Many times it was confirmed that probiotics (e.g. LGG) reduce the risk of antibiotics-associated diarrhoea. Results of researches related with application LGG in inflammatory bowel diseases, ulcerous disease, functional bowel disorders, particularly in irritable bowel syndrome, are promising. In explorations it was upon a question of conforming of LGG to treatment rectal bleeding in infants, diarrhoea associated with enteral tube feeding, prolonged noninfectious diarrhea in patients on antiretroviral therapy HIV, tropical enteropathy and to prevent of dental caries. Treatment with probiotics, as well LGG, it is counted as safe, also in youngest groups of patients.
