Contribution à l'étude de l'impact des huileries de la province d'El Hajeb sur l'environnement

In order to evaluate the impact of olive oil mills on the environment in the province of El Hajeb (Morocco), a comparative and statistical analysis was performed for five crop years (2009 to 2014). Based on measurable indicators, we have classified mills according to their pollution levels (slightly polluting, polluting and non-polluting), and identified the durability of their pollution. The results show that there has been a remarkable reduction of pollution, because of the decrease in the number of polluting oil mills, from 93.75% to 51.51% over the five years of the study. On the other hand, 61% of the oil mills remained polluting and 12% slightly polluting, while only 10% kept a non-polluting level. The principal component analysis (PCA) indicates that 41.03% of the units have evolved exponentially towards the slightly polluting level, and 31% have changed from one level to another. Ain Taoujdate is the district most affected by the oil mills, where pollution remained unchanged from the beginning until the end of the study, followed by Ait Yaazem. On the other hand, El Hajeb, Agourai and Ait Boubedman are still the less polluting in the province.
