Accompagnement éducatif et thérapeutique d'un petit groupe de jeunes enfants polyhandicapés présentant des difficultés visuelles

In the context of early social integration, the day nursery RAMDAM takes care of a small group of young polyhandicaped children. We will introduce the essential ideas that motivate us as a multidisciplinary team, along with the way we approach visual impairments evaluation. Furthermore, we will share our experience of close follow-up of those young children: we will describe the goals and means used such as spatial organization, orthopedic installations, and games which can be proposed. We will go through the therapeutic care in physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy as well as a psychological analysis. This article is accompanied by clinical vignettes to give a detailed description of the most common visual deficiencies we come across.
