Le Nénuphar : une aide technique pour la facilitation du mouvement en milieu aquatique des enfants atteints de paralysie cérébrale

Children with serious cerebral palsy have very little capacity of movement that does not permit them to move around in aquatic environment. The Water Lily is an assistive device which allows floating and improvement of movements of these children in an independent way and under supervision. This report presents the Water Lily, as well as its advantage over the other floating accessories. Some pictures show the use by a child with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and a child with spinal amyotrophy. The aim of the Water Lily is to improve the positioning of the trunk and facilitate the movements of the limbs in the water of severe disabled children. By facilitating practice of physical aquatic activity, this assistive device promotes motor development and social interaction of these children.
