La chirurgie des nystagmus congénitaux

Most forms of congenital nystagmus can benefit from surgery. The main surgical procedures are standardised and address the existence or otherwise of a blockage position. In the absence of such a position, a significant recession of the four rectus horizontal muscles can be envisaged. Knowledge of the positive effects of the surgery as well of the possible adverse effects is necessary in order to establish the surgical indications and to ensure the patient and his or her family are informed.
