Polyhandicap, éthique et évaluation

For patients with multiple disabilities, the question of assessment must be examined with prudence, taking into consideration the fact that objectivism, authoritarianism, over-technicity, or never-ending evaluation carry their own intrinsic risks in this difficult situation. It must be noted however, that even in an aggressive atmosphere increasingly imposing quality assessment, an evaluation of the quality of care can be conducted in perfect harmony with an ethical approach to care by increasing professional engagements in terms of lucidity and by offering an important, yet perfectible, way of raising the right questions.
