Marche appareillée chez une patiente paraplégique avec une amputation de jambe unilatérale

The combination of paraplegia and lower limb amputation complicates the rehabilitation process and reduces the patient's chances of recovering standing position and walking. This article describes a case of T11 paraplegia and a tibial amputation on the left side. After a rehabilitation course of 11 months, the patient achieved full ambulatory independence with crutches and a gait orthotic fitting combining an ortho-prosthesis on the left, and a classical hip-knee-ankle-foot orthosis on the right side.
