Quel sens donner à la réadaptation ? L'apport de la linguistique

Physical medicine and rehabilitation needs to develop a standardized terminology, not to use only common sense. Problems to reach such a target are numerous: it is a medical specialty with few recognition, few teaching and research, a non-explicit semiology (sign system), a (para)medical practice with the patient as a hero, a lexical confusion of words meaning like rehabilitation, handicap… Rehabilitation and disability must grow through professionalism rather than an emotional hobby.
